There’s nothing worse than being in a situation where you know you’ve done yourself a muscular injury but you just aren’t too sure just where on your body you should put your massage ball.
We’ve discovered an app called “Real bodywork Muscle Trigger Points “. In our humble opinion, it’s a must have. There is an apple version, an android version and a windows version. Have a look at their website for the version to suit your needs.
Usually you’ll reach for the app because you are feeling pain or discomfort in a part of your body or a “zone”.
Choose a circled zone that is as close as possible to where you feel the discomfort.
The app will show you the muscle or muscles (X) that could be causing the pain and the area (in blue) where the pain might be spreading. For muscles on your torso, arms or legs, you can put the massage ball on the X and slowly release the trigger point. The pain will lessen and retreat to where the ball is placed. It may not completely get rid of the pain but, if the trigger point is active, it will certainly take the edge off until you can get a professional treatment.
The app gives you information about the muscle which is often accompanied by a video of stretches that you can do after using the massage ball.
